Story
I'm Steve Howie and in 2013 had the bad news broken to me: I have cancer. During my treatment I was looked after so well by the staff of the hospital making me feel I was not alone and there was a lot of hope.
Going into treatment each day I saw the suffering of others with cancer and just as importantly the suffering of their families too. I offered my support by talking through with relatives of fellow patients how there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
In this light, I have taken on the challenge to compete in the world masters rowing championships less than two years out of treatment to show that a diagnosis of cancer is not the end but maybe a new start.
This will be a tough event over four days of racing world class opposition so I'm asking you to sponsor me for any amount you would see fit. Together we can help those in need of treatment and eventually beat this illness.
Kind Regards
Steve Howie
