I am part of a team called The Hepworth Blazing Saddles who are three friends from the Pennine village of Hepworth near Holmfirth, raising money for CAFT (The Childrens Adventure Farm Trust). This is David Wilson North West sponsored charity and my friends and fellow team riders have agreed to join me and raise money for this very special Charity.

CAFT is a fantastic Charity providing support, love and friendship to children in desperate need. Encouraging children to believe in themselves in spite of everything life has thrown at them, helping them feel they belong and that they they are important. CAFT is based in Cheshire and provides free holidays, respite and activties for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children. 

The team is made up of James Blackburn, Nigel Dearnly and Steve Jackson who are living the dream of a late Friday night in the local pub, where the challenge was laid down to ride from coast to coast. After much discussion the route was planned (fortunately from WHITEHAVEN to TYNEMOUTH and not the well beaten track of Lands End to John O Groates).

The 150 mile trail is taking place over 3 days commencing on the  Saturday the 4th June 2011 and hopefully being completed by the Monday evening of the 6th June and yes in 2011.

The team have been on a vigerous training regime every Friday evening in the local GYM the "Butchers Arms" where not only has a lot of virtual training taken place but key stratergies have been laid down for the 3 day event !!!! On a serious note the guys have been venturing out in the Pennines early on Sunday mornings getting fit for the forthcoming challenge.
