Virgin London Marathon 2015 · 26 April 2015 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

In 2005 I ran my first Marathon at the tender age of 30..

I ran it in 3hr 56m 09sec and completely smashed it and wondered what all the fuss was about... The reason for this is because I had all the time in the world to train and I was a healthy 12.5 stone and very fit...

Fast forward 10 years I have just turned 40 and the training has not gone to plan.. Finding the time to train this time round has proven very difficult probably due to the fact I'm a lot heavier, (due to my love of food) plus I now have two young children so its been very difficult to get the miles in..

However I said I would run/crawl this when I turned 40 so I will keep my word and raise some money in the process...

Im hoping for under 5hrs which is 1hr slower than 2005 but I will be around 2 stone heavier so I wont be racing against the clock...

In 2005 I ran for Weston Hospice Care in my home town of  Weston-Super-Mare, I was lucky enough to raise about £800 for them, but this time round I have chosen Teenage Cancer Trust..

I was inspired by the story of Stephen Sutton and the determination he had to make the most of his Life in the short time he had left...
