Virgin London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·

The DFSG helps families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a muscle-wasting condition mainly affecting boys. The condition results in decreasing mobility and muscle strength with limited life expectancy (usually to mid-20s). We provide a helpline, support, and organise social events.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page.

I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 13th April to raise money for The Duchenne Family Support Group.

In August 2013 my Nephew Luke was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). DMD is a serious neuromuscular condition which causes progressive muscle weakness. It causes muscles in the limbs, heart and lungs to weaken and waste over time. This condition will see him in a wheelchair from around the age of 10 and will shorten his life. At this time there is no cure.

Please sign the petition below to gain extra funding into research to find a cure for Duchenne.

The Duchenne Family Support Group (DFSG) is a National charity run by families for families affected by DMD. It provides a positive National support network made up of parents, their families and professionals. It relies upon donations and fundraising to be able to provide families with the support they need, this is why I will be donning my running trainers (the first I have ever owned) and running, plodding, walking the 26.2 miles to the finish line In April.

Your support is greatly appreciated!
