I have decided to do the Edinburgh kilt walk in memory of my mum, who sadly passed away in February 2022. She was diagnosed with oral cancer in March 2020 and fought bravely and strongly for 2 years.  For such a small lady she was huge in strength and willpower, she showed us all that she was a fighter. With it being oral cancer unfortunately it was a visible growth and even though she said she was always ok it was heartbreaking for me and all the family to see this happening to such an amazing lady. She stayed herself as long as she could by getting cuddles from us all and always thinking of us and putting us first. She taught me so much throughout her life and if I turn out to be half the person she was then I’d be doing well. She was and always will be my hero! 

To give back to MacMillan cancer support is the very least I can do as they are amazing people and such a supportive and understanding group.
