Memory Walk 2022
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
Who do you walk for? This year thousands of people will walk for everyone affected by dementia. By taking part in Memory Walk, you can help us raise as much money as possible so that we can support families living with dementia now and in the future.

Story

My Dad (John) had been suffering the onsets of Dementia for a little while. However, his decline was unbelievably intense resulting in his Hospitalisation on 11th July. This rapid onset was not only devastating to us it has also baffled the Doctors, although not a firm diagnosis their views pointed towards "Lewy Body Dementia". This is an extremely progressive and very intense form of Dementia. Unfortunately he was in a Covid Isolation Ward for 10 days leaving him unable to have any visitors which actually ended up being 4 weeks. When my Mum and myself did get to see him in Hospital his decline had been huge and 2 weeks on we were informed things would not be getting any better, after 7 weeks in Hospital he was moved to a Nursing Home where at least they seemed to try and give him some dignity unlike the Hospital, unfortunately his stay was brief and after just a week I received a call at 5.26am on 30th October that my Dad had passed away in his sleep....R.I.P. DAD (John).. We will be doing The "MEMORY WALK" for The Alzheimers Society at Hylands Park Chelmsford on Sunday 9th October 2022, anyone kind enough wishing to make a donation for this cause please click the link at the bottom of the picture "FORGETMENEVER".... thank you

is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes, and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary facing up to it, but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. After Covid-19, dementia was the leading cause of death in the UK in 2020. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the country currently living with dementia, and their families, to spearhead a campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support now. By taking part and raising sponsorship, or donating to someone who is, you are helping us do this.Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society. It's the most efficient way to fundraise, saving time and cutting costs for charities. So, who do you walk for? #memorywalk
