I have been a road cyclist for the last 20 years. I saw Nicola's dad's request for volunteers to run New York 2016 to raise funds for her charity and I decided that I wanted to try and help. I have spent the last 5 months converting from a cyclist to a runner and am pushing myself up to marathon distance. At the age of 47 this has been difficult and at times painful. I hope that I can raise enough to help young people who have lost a close family member through tragic violent acts.
