LEJOG in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity

Fire Family Challenge · 31 December 2020 ·
Hi, my name is Steve Wharton and I'm an on call Crew Manager at Appleby Fire Station where I have served for the past 23 years. Cycling is a big passion of mine, so I thought why not challenge myself and cycle from Lands End to John O Groats and raise some funds for The Fire Fighters Charity. I will be cycling alongside my buddy, Paul Cooper, who is raising money for his own chosen charity. We will be heading to Cornwall the last weekend in July, and aim to cross the finish line within the week.

The Fire Fighters charity provides specialist lifelong support for members of the UKs fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives. To ensure the Charity can do this for over 5,000 people a year and to meet the £9m cost of operating its support services, it is dependent on regular donations from fire and rescue service personnel, past and present, as well as the general public.
