Steve's running 600 miles in 100 days

600 miles in 100 days · 18 March 2015
Steve is undertaking this enormous task of running 600 miles in 100 days to raise funds for Joseph Warren who is a member of Out of Sight Charity and disabled. Joseph seeks a specialised walking frame, disability bike, and bespoke saddle for horse riding. The challenge will end by running the Great North Run on 13.09.2015.
Shortly after birth, Joseph was diagnosed with cerebral palsy which affected all four limbs. He also has speech and communication difficulties. Joseph can be in pain daily, but has just had an operation (March 2015) to release muscles on both hips and knees to relieve pain and to help him walk.
There have been some magical stages to Joseph's development, like the day when he could sit unaided and the day he could see colours; and now he has taken his first steps with the aid of a specialised walking frame. Before that he could only hop as his brain could not work out steps. However, since having intensive physiotherapy he is now taking steps and bearing his own weight.
Joseph's parents Nicola and Stephen have three other children, Samuel 11 years old, Joseph's twin Eleanor and one year old Eliza-Rae.
The goal is to raise a minimum of £10,000 for Joseph's future foreseeable equipment needs, to cover the next few years of Joseph's development and growth. Given the cost of disability equipment this is quite a modest amount.
For Steve to run 600 miles in a 100 days, to raise £3000 ...... is a daunting task for a 58 year old, but very achievable!
I would be most grateful if you would support Steve's challenge and offer financial assistance to this worthy cause, affectionally called Go "Jo Jo" (words of encouragement said to Joseph daily).
