HIPZ is a small charity with big plans to improve healthcare for everyone in Zanzibar. Our programmes improve hospitals and health services that are used by 1.8 million people. From maternal and child health to emergency medicine and mental health, we deliver long-lasting, locally led change.

Story

Hello everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to look at our Justgiving page! Over the next eight months, we will be using this page, as well as our Facebook group, to post updates on fundraising events and to thank anyone who has donated genorously to the cause.

To anyone who hasn't  heard
already
, we are cycling 240km around the island of Zanzibar in aid of the Makunduchi Project. The money is going towards the renovation of a hospital in Southern Zanzibar, where there is little or no healthcare available for 80,000 locals.

We are covering the core costs of the trip with our own money, so every penny you donate will go straight into the Project!

NEWS! NEWS! NEWS! On the 15th November, we are holding a Pub Quiz at Keepers Cottage, Kentisbeare! All you need to do is create a team of 4 people (£5 per team member - Ploughman's Dinner included!), drag them to the pub for 7pm and let the fun begin! Prizes will be comfirmed nearer the time!

15th November:

AMAZING! Tonight, we held the Pub Quiz at the Keepers Cottage, Kentisbeare, and made a grand total of £250.50. Thank you so much for everyone who came and supported us! We are hoping for more Pub Quiz fun in February 2010, so watch this space! A special thanks goes to Ash Persey and the Keepers Cottage for being so accommodating at the pub, and to Andy Smith, who ran the raffle for us!

13th February:

Apologies for the lack of updates recently! Since November, we have managed to organise a non-school uniform day at Heathfield Community School, Taunton (totals to be confirmed soon!). Also, we have been running a 50/50 raffle, selling tickets wherever we go! At Steve's 21st on 12th February, we drew the raffle... prize fund of £261! The winner of the raffle was Andrew Sanders, who very very generously donated the prize back into the charity, thank you so much! :o)

20th March:

Today, I have received a £222.40 cheque from Heathfield Community School!! They held a non-school uniform day on February 12th in aid of the Makunduchi Project - thank you so much! I would like to thank Helen Elliott and Graeme Ryan for their support - we are looking forward to showing the students exactly where their money has gone in June!
