Oxford Town & Gown 10k Run · 15 May 2011

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Hi folks,

After a drunken conversation boasting about my sporting ability with friends last month, having done little exercise since retiring from football a few years ago. I have decided to enter my first ever competitive running race on 15th May. The Oxford "Town & Gown 10k"

I've also decided to try and raise a few quid for a worthwhile charity while I'm at it.

I'm not expecting to raise thousands but while I'm out there sweating away it can't do any harm.

To make things interesting I'm also racing against my old enemy James Tucker and David Dixon. Think of it like a comedy Seb Coe vs Steve Ovett but set in 2011.

I realise that in these hard times money is tight but if you can spare anything, even a pound it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Steve Bower
