Dalesway Ultramarathon 82 miles · 17 August 2019

Dogs In Brazil was founded in 2011 after devastating mudslides north of Rio de Janeiro. A husband/wife team has devoted their lives to making a difference. With so many street dogs, we focus on the worst cases, in hopes of saving, healing and finding them the furever homes they deserve.

Story

Earlier this year, the home that we raised money to help buy for Jan & Carlos (Dogs in Brazil registered charity) started to show catastrophic signs of deterioration and collapse. This culminated in the demolition of the extension ( with asbestos roof). Slowly, they are in the process of rebuilding, whilst continuing to care for over 130 rescued and abandoned dogs ( and now, a few cats too). Funds are incredibly low and so we are yet again, reaching out to our friends & family to show your support for Steve who has taken on yet another massive challenge in support of our wonderful friends in Brazil.

This year’s it’s the Urban Legend 41 mile ultra on June  8th followed by the Dalesway Ultramarathon in August. For the Dalesway, there is a 36hr cut off. Steve will be tackling a large part of this remote & beautiful landscape in the dead of night ( it’s ok, I’ve bought him a torch) and as always, I’m ‘support Crew’.

Please dig deep and show your support and encouragement. Even the smallest donation lifts spirits. I’m setting the target for £500. This will help with roofing costs and essential items for the dogs as always. Every single penny counts & goes straight to the accounts of Dogs in Brazil USA branch ( Nicole & Curt) who in turn pass funds to Brazil. It’s the easiest way of funding without the hassle of taking payments through my own PayPal account.

With our love & gratitude

Steve & Helena
