Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We completed the project in Brazil and returned safely back to the UK. Please do keep donating and please do follow the success of this project on our website:- www.projectbrazil.co.uk.
I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking part in Project Brazil which is raising money for Cancer Research UK.
I consider my family and I to be very fortunate. We have opportunities to try new things, travel and discover new places and attend fantastic events and meet inspirational people. It was with this in mind that I began to think about something appropriate to mark my 50th birthday and decided to take on an International Project in Brazil alongside my family and friends.
The Project will involve me taking part in an eight day expedition in rural Brazil alongside 30 other participants. We will work for eight days to renovate the Adesuita School, which teaches 130 students aged between 4 and 60 years old, in the remote Kalungas region.
In order to do this, I am aiming to raise a minimum of £26,000 which not only goes towards helping the lives of an entire community by renovating their local school, but it also goes towards a clinical trial at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Cancer Research UK, which is testing a new drug to treat children with Neuroblastoma.
And believe me, I’ll be working hard for your money - this certainly isn’t going to be beach holiday in Copacabana! Over the 8 days we will be;
· Painting and decorating the existing school building
· Making any necessary repairs to the existing building
· Extending the school with an additional two classrooms
· Building outdoor play areas
It’s going to be tough, but it’s going to be worth it! So please dig deep……
Donating through JustGiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer they can claim at least 25% back from the Government on every sponsorship donation.
If would like to find out some more information about the project, the Adesuita School or how you can become involved, please get in touch.
Thanks,
Steve
