Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.I'm running the Loughborough half marathon on March 24th to raise funds in memory of a very special lady, Carol Gerighty who sadly lost her brave and courageous battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) last year and sadly passed away aged just 46. (Dame Ciceley Saunders, the founder of the modern hospice movement describes the disease as 'There is no worse disease than MND') We, Carol's friends and family are determined to do something positive in her memory. Therefore we have set up a tribute fund to raise much needed money for research. Around 6000 people in the UK have this disease, for which there is no known cure or treatment. Each year tragically 1200 people die from this horrendous disease
