Story
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page.
As some of you will be aware my wife, Nikki, is suffering from a rare form of cancer and needs to have a tumour removed from behind her right eye. However, in order to save her life she needs to lose her eye. Her bravery in dealing with this has been both humbling and inspirational as she faces up to her operation towards the end of May. The least that I can do, therefore, is to do something to say thank you to the staff of Moorfields Hospital in London who have looked after her over the last few months and who I know will continue to do so over the coming weeks.
Cycling 420k through Death Valley, in average temperatures of 24degrees C, and over 5000ft passes, will be both hot and hard work but it will be nothing compared to what Nikki is going through at the moment or compared with what the staff at Moorfields deal with every day of the week.
Every little bit helps in the batte against diseases such as cancer so I hope you will be able give whatever you can to ensure that the learning at Moorfields continues and that they will be be able to continue their fantastic work in mending people such as Nikki. I will be covering the cost of the trip so all the money collected will be going to the charity.
Thanks very much, it really is appreciated.
Steve
