Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I ran ROMSEY'S ANNUAL BOXING DAY PRE 1976 CAR & BIKE MEET for 17 years & in that time we attracted classic vehicles from all over the south of England, in their hundreds. The event was always free to all attendees & spectators but each year we collected money for various charities & for the last 11 years or so, due to it's popularity as a charity choice, we collected solely for PROSTATE CANCER UK. The event sadly outgrew the site we had & had numerous other running issues & in the summer of 2019, I made the difficult decision to end something that I had worked tirelessly on for 17 years. Whilst their has been massive disappointment regards it's demise, there has also been tremendous understanding regards why that decision had to be made. The event I believe will always be remembered fondly for it's eclectic mix of PRE 1976 vehicles & it's Christmas cheer & of course the £40,000 or so that it raised for charity ...so much so, that many many people have asked me to continue collecting for it's favoured charity.

I therefore will be running this page every Christmas Eve, through to the end of January each year, & I will also have a charity bucket in my shop, in the hope we can continue to help raise monies for this wonderful charity.

Thank you SO much to everyone who attended the event, all those that brought along their amazing vehicles for us to see, all those that gave their time to help me on the day itself & all those who gave so generously to our charity collections over the years. Wishing each & every one of you a Happy Christmas & a wonderful 2020. Steve B.
