Story
I have decided to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the first time I said "I'm going to do the Manchester 10k next year" by, well, actually running the Manchester 10k.
I'm only little so it's actually a really long way.
In all seriousness though, the homeless problem in the UK is getting worse, noticeably so in Manchester, where rough sleeping has increased by 900% since 2010 - well over the national average of 102% in the same period. Over 3,000 people are now surviving without a home in the Greater Manchester region.
The worst thing about this? It is a completely solveable problem.
That's why I've decided to run for the Big Change campaign. This is a campaign that funds charities working on the frontline. Big Change is not just concerned with getting people off the streets - but keeping them off, by addressing the complicated range of reasons that leaves people homeless. Big Change offer training, assist with job interviews, and help people get set up in a new home.
So please donate if you can, it can really make a difference.
