The below is a poem which I read out at my Grandma's funeral, it sums her up and what she would have wanted:

This is for Grandma...

Grandma, Kit, Kathleen or the lady next door,

Lived her life to this very day,

You can shed a tear that she is gone,

Or you can smile because her memory lives on,

Remember those days when scrabble was played,

For us kids those days we distracted her to win a point,

Remember those days when she got on her bike,

To cycle for hours and never stop,

Remember those days when we walked in the fields,

Collecting vegetables for our evening meal,

You can remember her and only that she is gone,

Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on,

Grandma, you will be loved for yesterday, today and ever more,

For us the memory will always live on,

Your smile, will be remembered and never forgot,

For us, you were a friend, a mother, a grandma, a wife and a lady

that always smiled,

So today and ever more do as Grandma would want,

Smile, play scrabble, cycle for hours, walk in fields 

but mostly love and go on.
