Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

On New Year's Eve 2019 my mum, Miriam, was diagnosed with advanced gallbladder cancer. To prepare her for treatment she was admitted into St Luke's Hospice a few days later to regain her strength whilst undergoing palliative care.
Unfortunately her situation continued to deteriorate and she sadly succumbed to the cancer in the early hours of Sunday 1st March 2020.
During the time that she was in St Luke's both the care that was provided for her, and that which was extended to the rest of my family was beyond our expectations. They did an amazing job at keeping her calm and in good spirits at a very difficult time. Their care went much further than just medical, and included emotional and spiritual support which is extended to the rest of my family for as long as we may need it.
My mum was a keen walker for her whole life, and that is why I think doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is the perfect tribute to her. I know that she was very happy when I told her that I planned on doing it with my friends.
St Luke's costs £1,160 per hour to run, with only 25% of this coming from the NHS. We want to help raise money for them so that other families can receive the care and support that my family have had during my mum's time there.
