Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

Monday 19th February- Tuesday 29th May

Initially this just started as a personal challenge designed to make sure I stay committed to my personal training. Since informing a few people of my planned exploits and because of their kind generosity in saying they would sponsor me for the challenge, I feel very privileged that I can do this whilst raising money for a very worthy cause.

A good friend and former Shropshire Cricket team mate of mine has suffered with Cystic Fibrosis his whole life. The courage and determination he has displayed is inspirational despite CF being an extremely difficult disease to live with. To this day he continues to play and coach cricket despite every day for him being a personal challenge.  So whilst i might struggle for motivation on any one of the next 100 days (especially those when nursing a hangover!), I will remember that the money raised will go to fantastic and very deserving cause.

So the challenge is to run a minimum of 5k, every day, for 100 days.

I will load up Strava runs to evidence each days run.

Some more info on CF below.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
