Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is my very first marathon ever! So to say Im a little nervious is putting it mildly,but Im running for a great charity THE SICK KIDS FRIENDS FOUNDATION. Based at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, the Foundation helps fund extra medical equipment,improves facilities,finances specilaist research and training and most importantly extra comfort and support to young patients and their families. It also not only helps the Hospital but many other health centres in the East of Scotland.
When my nephew was in Hospital in Cardiff with an intercepted bowel he was 2 and half years old. He had to have surgery and its hard enough being an adult going through that experience,but imagine being a child and a little child at that. My family went through a hard time during my nephew's recovery but luckily my nephew is buzzing around and playing like any other child should be in the those primary school years,mainly thanks to the support of the play staff,nurses and others within South Ward at the Heath Hospital.
I can only imagine what the kids and families at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh must have to deal with on a daily basis,so help me help sick kids feel better!
I will keep you all posted on my training and will need your support particulary when I get to MAY!

28/1/10- Did 35mins today over Barry Island with my sister 20mins brisk walking and 15mins light jogging. Its a start! :)
2/2/10- 20mins brisk walk,10mins light jog up slight hill. Starting to do my 14 week training schedule today! :)
5/2/10- 5 mins brisk walk ,10mins light jog,25mins steady run to Romily Park and The Knap,in Barry with a brisk walk to warm down. Bring on next week! :)
15/2/10- Weather pretty bad,so did 5mins jog, 20mins steady run and 5mins brisk walk on treadmill.
17/2/10- I DID IT TODAY! I braved the rain at 5:50am! It felt very good actually,did 10mins brisk walk,5mins jog then 20mins steady run finishing with 10 mins walk as I haven't quite tackled uphill runs yet but maybe on Friday! :)
Now in March really need the support now. Will try to intensify my workouts! Will keep you all posted! :)
04/05/10Did the BUPA Great North Run 10km in 1hr 8mins and 22seconds! Having this week off and restarting training on 10th MAY!
23/5/10- Edinburgh Marathon was completed in 5hours 58 mins and it was boiling!! So yay! I finished! So please show your support and keep donating. HELP SICK KIDS GET BETTER!! THANKS!
