RAFA Rides 2022

RAFA Rides 2022 · 10 June 2022 to 11 June 2022 ·
I'm 53 years old, slightly overweight and still making lycra look good. I lost my father to COVID-19 at the start of the pandemic and last year I took part in this event as a way of carrying on his work where he was an active member of RAFA especially during his 10 years in Spain.
The loss hit me hard and getting out on my bike helped me cope and deal with all the emotions that came my way. I had hoped to raise £250 but I surpassed that and in the end I hit £1000, riding 54 miles.
This year I have decided to raise my game and I am going to ride the UK Cycling's King Alfred's Way over 5 days over the RAFA Rides weekend. The King Alfred's Way is a 220 mile, mainly off road route. I am going to start from Brize Norton and return to Brize Norton so the total distance I will be cycling will be around 260 miles.
RAFA Rides 2022 is our annual cycling fundraising event, but it is more than that. RAFA Rides brings people together, wherever they are in the world, in the true spirit of RAF community. Thank you for supporting my fundraising, and the RAF family!
