On the 14th-15th May 2011 we will undertake the ‘3 Peaks Challenge’ in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK...
For those of you who don't know, the 3 Peaks Challenge involves participants climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24hrs!!
The peaks include:
· Ben Nevis (Scotland) – 4,409ft
· Scafell Pike (England) – 3,208ft
· Snowdon (Wales) – 3,559ft
As soon as the clock starts at the foot of Ben Nevis it does not stop again until we have fully descended Snowdon... That means that travel time in between the 3 mountains is also included in the 24 hour time limit... so a grand total of 621 miles driving & approx. 11,176 vertical feet!!
So the plan is to raise as MUCH money as possible for Cancer Research UK by taking up the Three Peaks Challenge... Although we will be undertaking the challenge in May, donations will be welcome at any time before or after the event.
