Story
Hello everyone,
As you may or may not be aware, in 2017, I undertook my first ever big run and completed the Edinburgh Half Marathon. It was one of the hardest, challenging and positively uplifting experiences I have ever had in my life and in 2018 I have decided to do it all over again but step it up a gear and take on the full 26.2 miles of the Edinburgh Marathon because I want to challenge myself further, have even more fun than last time and at the end of the day, I am just a glutton for punishment.
I have decided this time to fundraise on behalf of SAMH (the Scottish Association for Mental Health). Mental health is a cause and subject very close to my heart, it's something that affects me personally and will affect a lot of you personally.
Every year 1 in 4 people in Scotland will experience a mental health problem. If you don't suffer yourself then you will probably know someone who does. SAMH does vital work in Scotland to be there for those who need help, promote good mental health and also help to end the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental health issues.
I am someone who has issues from time to time with my mental health and one of the things I did to help overcome it is to start running and do events like this - I would like to use my running to raise awareness and vital funds to keep the good work of SAMH going strong.
Thank you in advance for your support, it really means a lot to myself, SAMH and all those you will be helping though your donations!
xXx
