Story
Hello! We are a group of runners who meet every Wednesday and Saturday morning to put in the miles around our town, Haywards Heath.
On Saturday 12th December we will be running 10k dressed as Santas to do something fun and more importantly raise funds for Rockinghorse Children's Charity.
Rockinghorse is the fundraising arm of the Royal Alex Children's Hospital, The Trevor Mann Baby Unit (Neo Natal intensive care) both in Brighton and the Special Care Baby Unit and Chalkhill Mental Health Unit for Children both in Haywards Heath.
During the Covid Crisis, Rockinghorse funded parent camp beds, extra stethoscopes, and over £5,000 worth of craft, sensory and gardening equipment for children suffering severe mental illness at Chalkhill.
They are currently raising money for:
1. An anaesthetic pump which will reduce nausea and recovery time for children who need to be anesthetised.
2.Asthma controller sensor to help parents and medical teams monitor inhaler use and reduce the need for medication
3.Manikin simulation Hardware to help train staff in A and E for medical trauma emergencies.
4. Christmas at the Alex- providing decorations, food, and virtual Santa visits for children having to spend time in hospital this Christmas.
Please help us achieve our target of £250 by donating costs you may well be saving during lockdown 2 for example the cost of a weeks take away coffee (£10) a days commute (£15) or a weeks lunch money (£25).
Thank you for your support!
