Gherkin Challenge · 22 October 2017 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

We are members of the St Hilary and District NSPCC. We have been established for 2 years and are committed to helping children stay safe locally and throughout the UK. As a huge challenge for us all (especially our knees!), and as part of our fundraising campaign, we are participating in the NSPCC Gherkin Challenge as 'The St. Hilary Hikers!' So on Sunday 22nd October 2017 we will be climbing 38 floors, 180 meters and 1037 steps!!! PLEASE show your support to us, but more importantly the NSPCC and help make a difference to countless children!

Just to put it into perspective, it costs:

£3 to pay for the NSPCC's Speak out Stay safe programme to reach 1 primary school child, giving them the knowledge to protect themselves from abuse.

£4 could pay for 1 of a trained volunteer counsellor to answer a child's call for help to Childline.

£5 could cover the cost of answering a call to the NSPCC helpline.

Please give what you can!

Thanks you for your support,

The St Hilary and District NSPCC
