Leeds Mind promotes positive mental health and wellbeing, and provides support and help to those who need it. 1 in 4 people experience mental health difficulties at some point in their lives. Leeds Mind are here for you if you are struggling with a negative mental health experience.

Story

At the beginning of each year, St Johns chooses a charity
that is close to our hearts to support and fundraise for. This year, in
partnership with AMS Ltd, we are proud to be supporting Leeds Mind.

Mind is one of the largest charities focused on helping
those struggling with mental health issues and promotes positive mental health
and wellbeing. Not only this but they are working towards ending the stigma
surrounding mental health and suicide.

We have chosen Mind because of the alarming statistics
surrounding mental health throughout the UK. We have all personally experienced
the impact that negative mental health can have not only on those around you
but also on your own wellbeing.

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a
mental health problem at some point within their lives. Whether that is
depression, anxiety, stress, self-harm, personality disorder, eating disorder,
bereavement or any other negative mental health experience.

Approximately 1 in 8 adults with a mental health problem are
currently receiving treatment.

Suicide is currently the single biggest killer in men under
45 in the UK.

The likelihood of someone we love and care about facing any
one of these issues is high. We wouldn’t want to think that they were facing it
alone and by supporting Mind and fundraising to aid their services, we feel
that we could help make a positive impact on mental health and the awareness of
the services available.

If our hard work and the funds we raise could help just one
person struggling or even help to prevent a suicide, we feel like we could say
that we are taking steps in the right direction.

We hope that you will help us to support such an incredible
cause.
