More than a dozen managers and lecturers from Stockton Riverside College have bravely agreed to spend a night under the stars to raise awareness and funds in the fight against local homelessness and poverty.
Michelle Elliott, director of business development at the college, said: “As a local college, we’re keen to support our local community and we’re particularly keen to support this fantastic cause.
“It’s not just about helping those who are homeless, but those suffering poverty too. At the college, we work closely with the long-term unemployed to help them get into work so this event is a perfect fit for us. It’s about changing lives.
“There is some trepidation about sleeping out for the night, but there’s a great team spirit too – and we’re all keen to raise awareness, and a few pounds, for an important cause.”
