Story
The girls here at Storksak are getting together and doing the Race for Life Muddy Run to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity.
We are raising money for our amazing accountant Jo Najis brave little boy Zak, who has battled through a rare form of brain cancer, Medulloblastioma.
In September last year, when Zak had a lot of headaches, Jo took him to A&E. It was discovered after undergoing a CT scan that Zak had a brain tumour. After undergoing his first surgery, tragically it was discovered that Zak’s cancer had spread to his spine, and he had to endure more surgery to help the fluid in his brain.
After three lots of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, it’s wonderful that Zak is now free of his cancer.
We are so pleased that Zak is now in remission, but there are around 500 children that are diagnosed with brain cancer every year. The lack of funding in place for paediatric cancers means that if Zak relapses there is no further treatment available to him in the UK.
Please help us in supporting The Brain Tumour Charity, the UK’s largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours, to help more children and adults like Zak. Currently only 2% of Cancer Research in the UK is dedicated to brain tumours, so it’s time for us to do what we can to help!
