Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am participating in "The Wight Stuff" on July 12th 2008.
This is an annual event organised by the Solent Skiers Association, who are a Jet Ski Club based in Lee on Solent in Hants. www.solentskiers.org.uk. It has been running this event since 2003, and to date it has raised £33,000 for the RNLI, £13,400 of this was raised last year alone! This year they have decided to change their nominated charity to Make A Wish Foundation UK. This is a charity who aims to grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
The Wight Stuff, involves around 60 jet-skiers from all over the country circum-navigating the Isle of Wight, 62 miles, on their Personal Watercraft. It is an all day event, and is not a race but a heavily supervised cruise around the island. Whilst this may not sound too challenging, last year we experienced the worst weather since 2003, and had to face 10-12ft waves around the south of the island at St Catherines Point.
Not only was the scenery breathtaking but the waves also!
I would very much appreciate your kindness, by making a donation. It does not matter how small, as it will still find its way towards making a poorly little girl or boy's wish come true.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Make-A-Wish Foundation UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks,
Nick Blow (Stow Skiers)
