RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

After reading John Bishops autobiography, I got inspired to do a long cycle ride for charity; offering the potential of a great adventure for a great cause. To make it funnier (for others), a decision I’m sure we will come to regret, Sarson and I shall be completing our trip on board a tandem bike. Giving me the ability to complete the challenge without peddling. Since then, 2 more people (Tom and Rory) have been recruited, bringing us to a team of 4. We will be aiming to cycle a route taking us from St Petersburg back to England, coming to nearly 2000 miles... For at least 2 of us that don’t really cycle or actually enjoy it, it is a fairly big challenge.

The members in our team have a long-term affiliation with RNLI. As a charity, RNLI depend on people to help them meet the cost of saving lives at sea. The volunteer lifeboat crew members give their time for free, but they need training, well-maintained equipment, lifeboats and shore facilities. Your support means there crews can save lives quickly, safely and effectively. RNLI help save on average 22 people per day, so your donation will truly make a difference. All money donated goes directly to the charity, however a beer on the finish line will not be declined!
