Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Lots of smaller charities are struggling for donations currently, in light of the coronavirus. So, we're calling for donations to a charity that's close to our hearts, that supports vulnerable people and their families in this challenging time, and in return, we'll conquer Mt. Everest on Zwift. (11 hours, 29,030 feet of elevation).

The devastating impacts of COVID-19 continue to be felt by families, communities and frontline services throughout the country, and our thoughts go out to those affected.

The money raised would support the Admiral Nurses on the Dementia Helpline who are currently dealing with increased demand due to the impact of COVID-19 and the effect of the withdrawal of key services during the lockdown and the subsequent distress this causes for people with dementia and their families.

During times like these, cycling and sport at large become seemingly insignificant given the current situation that many have found themselves facing as a result of this pandemic.

However, inspiring projects and challenges organised by those bound together by a love of sport can help raise important and much-needed funds for charities in need, showing just how big a part sport has to play in our society.

That's why we're completing and undertaking this grueling physical challenge. We hope you can support us with as much as you can spare.
