Street League supports young people aged 14-30 who live in disadvantaged communities to help them overcome their socio-economic barriers to employment and give them the opportunity to build brighter futures. Sport is at the heart of our programmes, developing self-worth, confidence and motivation.

Story

Youth unemployment is still a massive problem in the UK. More than 1 in 7 16-24 year olds are unemployed, rising to 1 in 4 young people in the areas of deprivation in which Street League operates. This is a huge cost to the taxpayer and society as well as the long-term detrimental consequences of unemployment on mental and physical wellbeing.

Our vision is to see an end to youth unemployment.

Street League operates in 14 regions across the UK with our sport for employment programmes running in 36 local communities. Our football, dance and fitness programmes support unemployed 16-24 year olds to learn the key skills and gain the necessary qualifications and work experience to move into a sustainable job or further training.

Three of our staff members here in Glasgow have kindly volunteered to compete in this years Great Scottish Run Half-Marathon and 10K in an attempt to both enhance the status of Street League and raise funds so we can continue to 'change lives through sport'.
