Christmas Jumper Week for SMA

Christmas Jumper Week for SMA 2021 · 6 December 2021
On the 10th of December the charity Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK (SMA UK) are asking people to wear a Christmas jumper
to raise awareness of SMA and funds for the charity.
For the week leading up to the 10th December, we are asking our Mums and their babies/children to come to class in
their best Christmas jumper in order to help raise money for SMA UK.
So why are we supporting SMA UK?
February 2021, Sophie (co founder of Strength In Mumbers) had a little boy, Milo, and at 5 weeks old he was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1, the most severe, life limiting, form of the condition.
SMA UK have supported Milo and his family since his diagnosis and they do incredibly important work including a campaign to get SMA
added to the newborn screening panel – work that could save lives.
That is why highlighting awareness of SMA and also raising funds for SMA UK is so important to us.
Please feel free to donate even if you can’t make it to one of our classes, and don’t forget to wear your Christmas jumper on 10th
December!
Thank you,
The Strength In Mumbers Team
