Story
Stride for Pride is an opportunity to invest in your own physical and mental health whilst raising awareness for an amazing charity.
MindOut is a mental health service who work to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBT+ communities and to make mental health a community concern.
Last year they helped 1,342 people struggling with social isolation, suicidal distress, financial hardship, discrimination and prejudice, hate crime and exclusion.
Physical activity has a huge potential to enhance our wellbeing. Even a short brisk walks can increase our mental alertness, energy and positive mood. Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety.
Happening this month, Monday 21st January - Friday 25th January!
We are asking you to donate just £5 to sponsor yourself in completing 5k.
This could be swimming, running, walking the dog, cycling or just some extra steps throughout the day (approx. 6250). If a 5k run seems a bit daunting why not break it down and do a quick 1k walk every lunch for a week? For those with limited mobility or just starting their fitness journey, think of a personal goal that is right for you. Something that is a challenge that you can be proud of. Tell us what you plan to do when you donate and maybe it will inspire others!
Good luck, well done and thank you!
