Stu and Oli's castle to palace cycle · 21 June 2010
This all started way back in October 2009 when Oli and myself were a little tipsy after a few to many at Oktoberfest in Germany. We decided that we should undertake a mammoth cycle challenge to raise some money for charity as we could do with the exercise and helping people would be a good thing to do. I had sobered up by the next day and dismissed the discussion as idle beer banter however Oli had other ideas and continued to pile on the pressure, frequently bringing up the subject and telling me that I was a "man of my word" who "would never back out of a thing like this". Keen to prove him right I grudgingly agreed and we now find ourselves facing a 500 mile cycle from Edinburgh Castle to Buckingham Palace.
There are many reasons why we should not be doing this, chiefly in my case being that I'm a chronically unfit, beer swilling chain smoker. There is however a massively good reason for enduring the certain pain we are sure to go through. We are raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer so they can continue their vital research into the disease and work towards finding a cure. This is a charity close to both of our hearts as both of our family's have been affected by the disease and so we hope to raise as much as possible for this worthwhile cause.
All of your support will help keep us going in the inevitable touch times we will face so please dig deep and donate to this fantastic charity now.
