Thank you for choosing to give to The Lightbulb Fund at St Andrew’s Healthcare. Like every charity, we require funding so that we can provide the best possible treatment and care for our patients. Please use our Just Giving page to donate whatever you can to help us in our aim to transform lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The World Health Organisation report that "One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill-health and disability worldwide".

I am raising money for the Helping Hands Fund, part of St Andrews Healthcare, the UK's leading mental health charity. The Helping Hands Fund helps people with mental health issues in a variety of ways, including providing financial assistance to their families and carers to enable them to visit, helping the transition from a hospital environment back into independent living in the community, and with various community projects which help build skills & confidence to aid recovery.

I am raising this money by entering a 'Strictly Come Dancing' style dance competition. I have 1 month to learn two dances, the Quick Step and a Waltz, which I will perform to a live audience and judges. By the way, I can't dance. And I hate being in the spotlight. So this is definitely a challenge far from my comfort zone, but certainly worth it with your donation!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
