Story

So as some of you may know I have entered the Barcelona 70.3 ironman in May this year the event will be a sea swim, bike and a half marathon. My aim is not to just manage a finish but to get under 6.40 hours for the whole event which appears to be a very respectable time for my first one.
I have now started my training journey for the event which consists of a lots of miles in all disciplines averaging around 8-12 hours a week for the first 2 months then the hours get upped as I go on.
My main aim is to raise money for two special charities one being Acorns (of which I'm sure you are all familiar) and also a charity called Care for Casualties in which I have seen first hand the work this charity offers it is a charity that was formed for my former Army regiment to care for the injured soldiers and their families after they had returned from conflict, many returned with both physical and mental life changing injuries. VTC is the club I will be racing under as this is where I got back onto the fitness and pain train after leaving the Army after 23 years. I am not taking this event lightly having singed up with a fantastic endurance event coach with taylor made training and recovery plans.

All of my training can be followed on my Instagram page under @stu2631

I hope that you can dig deep for this massively worth while charity as I know personal it helps all those that need it after serving on foreign soils.
