Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

We are taking part in the Woburn Abbey Tri-for-Life Triathlon because we feel it is important to help others that are in greater need than ourselves.

The Woburn Abbey Triathlon is raising money for charity through providing a unique multi sport event. Encouraging people of all ages to take part, get fit and help others. All profits raised at the event will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital & Melanoma Focus Cancer Research.

Great Ormond Street Hospital provides a brighter future for seriously ill children. With around 618 seriously ill children arriving each day, from all over the UK. Any donations will help to:

  • Rebuild and refurbish wards and medical facilities designed around children, and which let the hospital treat more patients.

  • Fund pioneering research to tackle complex childhood illnesses.

  • Pay for the most advanced equipment for treating the toughest and rarest conditions.

  • Fund services that help make life in hospital as normal as possible for young patients and their families.

Melanoma Focus is the UK's leading national charity for melanoma, commissioning and funding innovative research into the treatment and causes of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, while providing support and information to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.

Melanoma is the 5th most common cancer in the UK and its incidence is increasing.

Cancer is an indiscriminate illness that affects many of us and leaves us often helpless to friends and loved ones with the illness. It is for this reason that we feel it is important to raise money for a charity that funds much needed research and education.
