London 2 Brighton Challenge 100km · 23 May 2020
On Saturday 23rd May 2020 a team of four employees from Ibstock Chailey will be taking part in the 100k (62.5 miles) London to Brighton Challenge to raise money for our chosen charity Shelter. We will be walking continously for around 24 hours without sleep. ......... Yes I know your thinking these people are crazy ...and maybe your right.
I am overweight, have high blood pressure and am completely out of shape and this is the motivation and reason to help me lose weight, get fit and in the process raise money for Shelter which is a great charity.
It will be the toughest thing I have ever attempted and will push me phsically ,mentally and emotionally.
I would really appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small as this will no doubt help with my motivation! I want to raise a minimum of £600 which will help Shelter continue to help less fortunate people.
I will be updating photos and my story as I train, lose weight and as it gets closer to the day of reckoning.
If I'm honest I'm scared due to the scale of the task , Walking that distance as a non walker is mad, to walk that distance for 24 hours through the night is madness and is all happening in 17 weeks..... right no more time to type .....time to train and train hard...updates to follow.
Thanks for taking the time to read and please donate!!!
Shelter
Ibstock plc - Proud to be supporting Shelter. We are extremely proud and excited to be partnering with Shelter. We're working with them to raise awareness and vital funds to support people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing. A home is a fundamental human need and a basic moral right, as vital as education or healthcare. But in Britain today, that right is being denied to millions of people whose lives are blighted by homelessness, bad conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. As 4,750 people sleep on the streets on any given night and 90,000 households are stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation, such as homeless hostels, we believe we must contribute to the solution through our products, skills and fundraising.Help us reach our target of £50,000 in our first year to make a difference to the lives of homeless people and those at risk of homelessness. Thank you very much for your support.
