Over a year and half ago. Our best friend had to tell his 8 year old daughter that her mum was dying from cancer. Not an easy thing to explain. Part of this process was to tell her about the chemotherapy that her mum would have to undertake and what effects this would have.

When her mum passed away in January 2022, they reached out to a charity called Holding on letting go. They are a non profitable charity who rely purely on donations.

Holding on letting go are absolutely amazing. They
have done so much to help both our friend and his daughter.

They do not just help children come to terms with losing
someone close to them, but also adults who may have lost children or family
members.  Or in our friends case they helped him learn how to deal with the emotions his daughter will go through at times.

They try and help them come to terms in different ways. They introduce them to others who are or have been in the same sad situation. They teach them that it’s ok to miss them but help them cope with the loss.

As a group of friends we will always do our best to help
each other. There are some things in life that we all struggle with. This was one of those times. None us could help as it wasn’t us in this situation. As much as we tried it wasn’t enough.

Holding on letting go have managed this. They have
helped them both come to terms with a loss of life in a way no other charity could.

We are asking our friends and family to sponsor us on our
next cycling venture. London to Brighton. We will be riding 55miles all in aid of this wonderful charity.

Every pound helps. This charity really does help and really
deserves as much as we can give.
