Story

Sunday 7th Aug 10:15 - (Dee here) And he's off... You can track his progress via View Gallery pictures above and Post Updates below.

My dad was unlucky enough to suffer a stroke in 2017 whilst undergoing chemotherapy.  The most immediate consequence was the onset of Aphasia; a communication disability caused by damage to the language processing centres of the brain.

Dyscover was founded in 1994 to provide support to people, like my father, with aphasia.  This includes programmes and courses led by professional speech and language therapists and supported by a host of generous volunteers.

In support of the excellent work they do myself, my friend Rick and my trusty steed (Rhubarb the bike) are attempting to ride from London to Edinburgh and back in just 125 hours.  For the 2022 edition of the event, a 1540km route has been prepared for us......yup that's right.....308km (186m) a day for 5 days!!!  It runs from 7th - 12th August 2022.

It's a fairly mammoth undertaking and whilst Rhubarb is super excited (she'll do most of the work of course) I am slightly more anxious.

It would be amazing if you could sponsor us though....and if you want to know more about the craziness check out the video for the 2017 edition of London Edinburgh London (< 4 mins - a must see).
