Story

Yes, I do need my head examined!  What was I thinking when I agreed to do a Polar Expedition after the ‘Big Walk’ was cancelled due to the Pandemic in 2020.

The SJP Foundation AND the fantastic Polar Academy, like many charities since the Pandemic, have struggled to raise funds for the amazing work that they do for kids in our communities - particularly those who’re having harder times than most.  This is my (little!) attempt to help them by putting myself 1m miles outside of my comfort zone in the hope it could generate some well needed cash for these charities

A team of 6 intrepid SJP Partners are taking on this challenge and have been training for almost a year to this point.  We’re tyre hauling, hill climbing and insanity training each week to build up our physical and mental health to cope with -35 degree temperatures and an inhospitable, unforgiving but ultimately beautiful landscape.

With Glasgow Cop26 came the baton to the UK & Scotland to light the way to a brighter and more sustainable future for all of us. What better way to do that than to highlight the natural beauty of the Polar Ice Cap - before it melts before our eyes and to raise money for such wonderful charities in the process.

I hope you’ll keep an eye on how we’re getting on and ultimately help raise some money.

Best wishes to you all and thank you for any support you can give.
