Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I will be taking part in the Nottingham half marathon on Sunday 13th September 2009. I will be raising money for the Poppy Fields charity (more info below). I would be really grateful if you would support me by donating towards this worthy cause and support Poppy's Consultant Oncologist, Dr. Andrew Peet, in his research into Childhood Brain Tumours.

A beautiful little girl called Poppy Guilder (pictured to the left) was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March 2004 when she was only 14-months-old. To date she has endured 3 brain surgeries and 17-months of chemotherapy. She started another course of chemotherapy in January 2008. It was found out on April 21st , the same year, that this treatment failed. Poppy has just completed a 28-day course of radiotherapy, and is now waiting for a scan date to see if this treatment has worked.

As a thanks for the excellent care Poppy has received at Birmingham Children's Hospital, her charity Poppy Fields was set up in April 2004. To date over £80,000 has been donated to the hospital.
