We fund raise for brain tumour research to improve survival and understanding

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Inspirational people galvanise you to do inspiring things. Nora and I are supporting a charity inspired by 15 year old Sam White who died in 2013, as a result of a brain tumour.  I have volunteered to join a 13 dayJohn O’Groats to Land’s End 1,150 mile endurance cycle challenge in August/September. My darling wife is joining me for (a mere) 200 miles.  We need (serious) help!

Despite intrusive and invasive medical treatment, Sam White did a huge amount to raise awareness and funds to support research on earlier diagnosis and intervention. He lobbied MP’s in the Houses of Parliament to sign a petition for a new brain tumour manifesto. He also spoke at the European Parliament and was instrumental in changing European law on how trials are undertaken and shared across Europe.

Sam’s Legacy not only funds new research but providerespite weekend breaks for young people and their families.

Our overall ambition is to raise at least £200,000.  I’d be so grateful if you could help me do my bit by supporting  me – any commitment, large or small, gratefully received!

When Sam was diagnosed with a brain tumour life changed forever, BOOM! Despite long treatments and disabilities Sam continued to live life to the full, soon realising how little was known about the tumours and life with one.Being Sam he set about changing that..and told us to continue without him xx
