Thanks for taking the time to look at our Just Giving page.
Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good. With clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, children are born healthier. They get the chance to go to school and grow up to become adults. Women and men get to earn a living. Whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be.
The WaterAid Mountain Challenge began over twenty years ago, and is one of WaterAid’s longest-running events. We will be setting off from Hope Valley College, Hope, Derbyshire and will navigate across the glorious Dark Peak area before descending back through Edale to Hope Valley College a distance of 25 miles.
The 'Mad Dog' team is made up of Mike Jackson, Russ Parker, Ant Ault, Bryce Parker (no relation to Russ - so we have been told), Dan Jackson (Navigator) and George Webb.
Initial optimism gave way to realism following our practice walk where we completed the first 15 miles of the course Castleton to Edale which took us 6 hours - safe to say it was a lot harder than we thought it would be and if we walk at the same pace it's going to take over 9 hours. So good chance that the team are going to suffer and we might even see grown men cry (specifically Russ) - which has to be worth some sponsorship.
So help this motley outfit and support this great cause by making a donation to our page.
