Last April I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to early detection and great treatment on the NHS I've a good chance of surviving. The year before I'd visited the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza. Whilst there I discovered that a woman diagnosed with breast cancer in Gaza only has a 40% chance of still being alive 5 years later. This compares with 85% in the UK. Resources in Gaza are stretched beyond measure so, as a way of saying thank you for my treatment, Craig and I are going to run in the Palestine Half Marathon. All the money we raise will go to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza City for cancer services.
