The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.

Story

My lovely younger brother Stephen took his own life on August 11th 2009. I'm never going to get over it, but I suppose I'm gradually going to get used to it, somehow.

We had a difficult and at times abusive childhood which I know contributed to his intermittent depression. My sister Sarah, Stephen's twin, and I have found it easier to talk about, and therefore come to terms with the abuse than Stephen did. How I wish now that I'd tried harder to get him to talk about it.

Sarah and I are running the BUPA 10k for the Mental Health Foundation in Stephen's memory, hopefully raising lots of money to provide support for others in Stephen's situation.

My amazing sister Sarah has already raised a staggering £2113, I'm full of admiration for her :)

Thanks very much for your support, every little helps.

Take care

Sue x
