I'm taking part in the 'walk' alongside my amazing family (Husband and 3 children, 7yrs, 4yrs & 19months).

I lost my mobility in February (due to EDS) and I'm now in a wheelchair, but it means a lot to take part and I'm thankful to the organisers for allowing it. 

We would like our donations to be shared between Rochford Ward and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/Special Care Baby Unit at Southend Hospital. 

The actual event is taking place on my Nan's 'Angelversary' - 8 years since her passing.  My Nan was being looked after in Rochford Ward, and I was 5months pregnant with Nan's first grandchild  (that she nicknamed Peanut). The staff in the Ward were amazing with Nan, but so so supportive to the family too. My Nan was a massive part of me, and still is - we'll be taking part in "Nanny Peanut's" memory. 

Then we would like the other half to go to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/ Special Care Baby Unit. In 2013 our Son was born at 29weeks weighing 3lbs 5oz, and we will always be eternally grateful to the amazing team. These amazing human beings helped my little miracle get strong enough to come home, and for that I will be forever in their debt. The rollercoaster ride we endured was incredibly difficult and emotional, but our SCBU family were there to support and give us the strength we needed. They always went above and beyond their job, and would help us in anyway they could. They were also amazing towards my eldest (who was 3 at the time), and even at 7yrs old she will still talk about them. 

These incredible people need the recognition they deserve. Thank you so much.
