Story
In September I will be cycling from Lands End to John O’Groat’s. I will not be going too fast, about 50 to 80 miles a day taking 19 days to complete the task. There will be about 20 of us from all over Britain cycling with backup from the CTC (Cycling Touring Club, or café to café club!) Although slow, it will be a challenge for me, especially the hills of Cornwall and Devon.
I would like to raise some money for two good causes, Camsight and The Jarman Centre. It is your choice which project you would like to give to.
Camsight is a registered charity working with blind and partially sighted people in Cambridgeshire. A diagnosis of sight loss can be a frightening and isolating experience and one that will affect many of us. Camsight provides support for visually impaired people so they can maintain an independent life. Camsight also gives support to the carers and families; employers and providers of public services. Camsight are refurbishing their building as their Centenary project. Find out more by visiting their website; http://www.camsight.org.uk/get-involved/centenary-appeal/ Donate here.
Girlguiding Cambridgeshire East owns the Jarman Centre which is a Brownie house, set in thirteen acres of private woodland on the edge of Newmarket. It is a very special place for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. Upkeep of the house and grounds involves fundraising and voluntary service. Find out how to donate in the fundraising section on the main menu. http://www.cambseastguides.org.uk/jarmancentre
